There's Nothing Foolish About These Models!

Eligor is one of the few diecast companies to still manufacture its products in France, yet their models carry a worldwide appeal. Located in the valley of Oyonnax, their factory handles everything from the initial tooling to the hand painting and tampo-printing. We at 3000toys are proud to introduce the latest new releases hitting the market later this spring. And don't worry: this isn't an April Fools' joke--these models are the real deal!

The 4CV is an economy car that was produced bythe French manufacturer Renault. This was the first French car to sell over a million units. It features a rear-engine, rear-wheel drive and front suicide doors. This model also features the“32000 kmAround The World” theme.

CAT CT660 Makes History!

Unveiled at Las Vegas’ CONEXPO last week alongside CAT’s first road truck, the first run of Norscot’s CAT trucks sold out in just days!

Caterpillar is most famously known for their heavy-duty construction equipment. They've tried their hand in the agriculture business as well, and now they've come out with their first-ever on-highway truck, released March 22, 2011! This is just the beginning, as they are already in the planning stages for another model, to be released in 2013.

Norscot did not lose any time in coming out with their model of the new CAT CT660 truck - in fact, they released it on the very same day, at the same show. The first run of trucks they made for CONEXPO sold out before the show was over! More trucks are in production, and while we have not been given an exact arrival date, we hope to have these in and ready to ship within the next few months!

Norscot Item #55502 - 1/50 Scale - $61.95

Norscot Item #55503 - 1/50 Scale - $76.95

Stillwater International Airport

Thanks to Bob S. from Stillwater, Minnesota for sending in photos of his collection!

"Here are some photos of Stillwater International Airport (Corgi Field), located outside of Minneapolis. Corgi Field is a busy place as may be seen: passenger operations, air freight, and since the field is a joint-use airport, you'll see military aircraft there as well.
"Since Corgi Field lies outside the Time/Space Continuum, you'll see aircraft from several countries and very different eras parked alongside each other."

March Madness

This is one of my favorite times of the year. The rising temperatures and longer days are only a little bit of the fun. What I really enjoy is the NCAA Tournament that has started. The first two days are the best as the tournament gets narrowed down from 64 to 32 teams.

Often times, the teams that are playing each other would never meet during the regular season, but the tournament has provided them with a level playing field. I wonder if the tournament uses the Caterpillar 24M Motor Grader to level it out?

We at 3000toys think they ought to consider it! The M-series motor graders set the world wide standard for performance and precision--and the 24M is the largest of the line with a gross vehicle weight of more than 137,000 pounds. That is a whole lot of performance and precision!

The Norscot-manufactured model of the Caterpillar 24M Motor Grader has packed all of that performance and precision into a 1/50 scale model. The model even captures the size of the real thing by weighing in at over two pounds and measuring an impressive 13 inches long. However, the impressive size is overshadowed by the even more impressive details of this affordable model. Some of those features include:
  • Front suspension with oscillation and steering wheels
  • Rotating circle and blade
  • Forward, backward, left, and right adjusting blade
  • Raising and lowering ripper
  • Clear windows with interior cabin detail

This model is truly a fine example of craftsmanship and detail. It is a perfect addition to any construction collection and a great gift for the person whose bracket has already been busted: perhaps it can remind them that field is just being leveled out a little more.

3000toys.com Now Carrying the Complete Hobby Master Line

Hobby Master is a company committed to producing high quality collectible items. For some time now we have only carried bits and pieces of Hobby Master’s line of the Ground Power, Air Power, and Airliner series. But now we at 3000toys.com are thrilled to announce that we will be carrying Hobby Master’s FULL line of products. That means we’ve added over 200 items!

I want to take a second and profile one of their newest items that I think will really catch the eye of collectors everywhere.

Modeled after the AV-8B Harrier US Marines VMA-542 “Tigers,” this 1:72 die-cast model captures several of the features that make the AV-8B unique. The Harrier is the first operational Vertical/Short Takeoff (V/STOL) and Landing aircraft. By directing the exhaust through movable nozzles the force could be used to propel the aircraft along a runway or lift vertically and then into a forward motion; this ability to lift off vertically helped the Harriers to begin to be referred as “jump jets.”

The VMA-542 was initially commissioned on March 6, 1944 as VMF(N)-542 and have been through several modifications until the VMA-542 variation was introduced in April 1986 that gave the squadron a greater V/STOL capability as well as extending the range and increasing the payload. The 542nd has participated in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Kosovo, and Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2007-08.

We are excited to carry such an interesting, innovative, and historically steeped aircraft. The icing on the cake is that it is being offered by Hobby Master, a company that is dedicated to making the best military die-cast models.

Hobby Master HA2609 – 1/72 Scale – Price = $54.95

Ground Breaking Today!

We started business in 1995, before most people were on the internet. Over the past 16 years, we've grown quite a bit, going from a house basement to two warehouses now. Today, we started our fourth building project! We're adding on more office space to our second warehouse! We're very excited and wanted to share some pictures of the ground breaking with you all.
