Announcing Fall Releases from Eligor

Eligor, a diecast manufacturer based in France, has released their fall lineup which is hitting the market this month.

These 1/43 scale models are great for "O" scale enthusiasts as well as classic car collectors. We all know France is famous for wine, the Eiffel Tower and fine food, but did you know they produce some of the finest detailed diecast scale models in the industry? These cars are Le cool.

Not exactly known for stylish good looks, the Citroën 2CV AZU was begrudgingly touted in the industry for its low cost, reliability, and simplicity of use and service. Featured here is the Bardahl Oil Company’s advertising truck of the 50’s.

Item: 101327
Retail = $35.95

The Type 35 was the car that made Bugatti a successful racecar manufacturer. In 1926 it took 12 major Grand Prix victories. They were raced in almost every event at the time. This helped Bugatti take over 2000 victories in 1927 alone. Featured is the Italian Team model of this legend.

Item: 101323
Retail = $35.95

VéloSoleX is a motorized bicycle originally invented in 1946 and has sold more than 7 million worldwide. Having owned Solex for a period of time, Renault puts the economical 4CV on the road towing the advertising trailer that toured the countryside of France. Now that's some classic mid-century marketing!

Item: 101287
Retail = $42.95

Autumn Weekend Edition: Last Installment

Did you have a great weekend? I promised you some photos of our time spent with Jo Anne from Norscot. We had a lot of fun, and that certainly comes through in these images. Jo Anne is such a wonderful person, and I always look forward to working with her when the opportunity arises. However, we did work very hard with her, and she taught many ways that we can serve YOU more!

I apologize for some of the pictures' quality. I took all of these with my Android phone and don't have the steadiest hand. :)

Here's Jo Anne. Isn't she lovely?

This is Katharine Stratton, Vice President of our company. One of our team members here had a gorgeous little girl earlier this year, and she was incredible during our meetings! It was great to have her there.

Here we have Jo Anne with Tom (our other product manager who works closely with me to get your the products you want... he's in the middle) and Bill (left), our amazing office manager.

Here's Bill again and Jo Anne taking a break for lunch.

The F-100 commonly referred to as the “Hun”, a shortened version of “one hundred” was the first US fighter capable of attaining supersonic speed in level flight. The Hun was used extensively as close-air-support in South Vietnam.

The 309th TFS “Dusty Ducks” were based at Tuy Hoa AB, South Vietnam from December 6, 1966 until September 8, 1970. The 31st TFW commanded five F-100 squadrons and was the most important F-100 wing in South Vietnam flying interdiction strikes, reconnaissance, rescue combat patrol and attacked enemy anti-aircraft locations. The 31st TFW squadrons took part in the Tet Offensive, the Siege of Khe Sanh and the extraction of troops from Kham Duc. The 31st reached 100,000 combat sortie milestone in September 1969.

F-4J Phantom II VF-31 "Tomcatters," USS Saratoga, 1972
The F-4 Phantom II first entered US Military service in 1960. It was designed as a fleet defense fighter for the US Navy but by 1963 it was adopted as the US Air Force primary fighter-bomber. Despite the size and weight of this Cold War icon the F-4 broke 15 world records and continued to hold five of them until 1975. Produced from 1960 to 1981 there were 5,195 Phantom IIs manufactured. Eleven countries other than the USA had the Phantom II in their inventory. VF-31 set many Navy records during the time it flew the F-4 Phantom II. On June 12, 1972, CDR. Sam Flynn and Lt. Bill John, while flying F-4J AC 101 (157293), downed a North Vietnamese MiG-21 with an AIM-9 Sidewinder missile, which made VF-31 the only Navy fighter squadron to achieve air-to-air victories in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.
