This was our first year to make the trip to Trainfest in Milwaukee, and we definitely plan to make it a yearly event for 3000toy. They had a record attendance with almost 22,000 fans of all things railroad crowding the exhibit hall of the Wisconsin state fair grounds. We were set up with just a sampling of the many items we have in 1/87 (HO) and 1/50 (O) scales. The crowds kept Caleb and me on our feet all weekend. Without a doubt the massive TWH cranes we had erected in the booth made the biggest impression. If you are not familiar with the show, Trainfest is the largest show if its type in the upper mid west if not the nation. Adult admission this year was $10 but there were enough exhibits and vendors there to occupy at least an afternoon. Check out their web site http://www.trainfest.com/ for details on next year's show.
One member of the Milwaukee O Scale train club purchased a SIKU Chicken Express truck #1933 and a Spec-Cast Bantam drag-line #con008 and put both of them on the layout at the show. Vintage equipment of all types were the most popular items in our booth.

The real version of this car has a 324 V-8 engine and a hydramatic transmission, getting 19 mpg. It downshifts when you needed extra power, and takes off like a rocket! In addition to the engine and power of this car, the interior is fantastic as well. It is said to be beautiful on the inside with a great instrument layout, and a very nice steering wheel.
This car comes in red and white, as pictured above (Welly #9869H-R), and in two-tone green (Welly #9869H-GR).
The last of the new items, Welly #2417-4D-SET, is a four-piece set of 1/24 scale 1965 Chevy Impala SS 396's. The set includes these cars in four different colors which vary from set to set.
