Sleek new toolings from First Gear!

First Gear has recently announced a new tooling for their Tread Marks Collector Club Series. We were barely able to get our hands on these, because they are so very limited. I cannot wait to see this out of box, with that lovely black and shiny finish!

It's an International Durastar Armored Truck, equipped with all the classic features of an armored truck:

  • Blacked-out windows
  • Chrome mirrors
  • Chrome fender
  • Gun ports on the body
  • Authentic diamond-plate detail
In 1/34 scale, it measures 7 1/2" long, 3.5: wide and 3.23" high. Quite a substantial piece, I think. Now, this is not a bank so don't start to think that you'll keep your money stash here... it still belongs in the bank, ok? Even so, this model promises to look stunning on your desk or anywhere else you can fit it!

But that's not all! You may have seen the previous models featuring the City of Chicago graphics in the attractive light blue color. Well, we've got one more for you, in a nice vintage style, since the others seemed to fly out our doors! This time it's a 1/34 rear load garbage truck, featuring a detailed cab interior, with opening hood and complete engine detail. This vintage body features a lifting bucket that opens packer plate, which also opens the rear door - the body of the truck also tilts and dumps!

Stepping back into history with Hobby Master

This M46 Patton tank was used in the battle of City of Chorwon in 1953, by an unknown unit. Note the historically accurate detail and paint scheme!

The Centurion MK 5/1 10th Armor Brigade was used on in Samaria on the West Bank.
This was a tank commonly used by Israeli forces starting in 1967.
(This item will be available in September 2009)

The TBF Avenger from 1942 was a major player during the Battle of Midway!

This 1/48 Grumann Flying Barrel from 1940 features a historically-accurate paint job. This is just another example of the miniature masterpieces Hobby Master is known for!

From the big screen to your collection...

From The Magnificent Seven to Bullit to The Towering Inferno, Steve McQueen was the undisputed king of cool. Mattel brings you his Ferrari 250 Berlinetta Lusso in 1/18th scale.

If you're more of a contemporary film buff, you won't want to miss the Bad Boys II Ferrari 575 MM in Grey Alloy. Mattel is excellent at these film tributes, and the detail on this is beautiful. Both items came in this week, and we're sure to sell out quickly!

Once again, M2 does it right!

In the last 2 weeks or so, M2Machines has made several new product annoucements, most of which will be hitting our warehouse this month. These are all packed with the attention to detail that M2 is known for, and each release is so original and fresh!

Here we have the 7th release of the Detroit Muscle series. Included in this set will be 2 colors of each car: 1970 Ford Torino GT, 1970 Chevelle SS396, and 1966 Dodge Charger. The chase car in this release will be the 1966 Dodge Charger, in Black with Gold Trim. There will also be a chance at the ultra-rare chrome 1970 Ford Torino GT. As always, we will start out by offering these in factory sealed cases, the contents being untouched by our hands. This way you will know for certain that you have a good chance at a chase car, which will be found in 1/8 of the cases we ship.

Next up is a brand new series, called the Auto-Drag. These will feature drag strip race cars from the 50s, and muscle cars of the 60s and 70s, all with the graphics of automotive sponsors of the time. Also part of the package are period-correct tires and racing wheels. Included in release one will be 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air in Bright Yellow, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle in White, 1970 Ford Mustang in Medium Lime Metallic, 1958 Plymouth Belvedere in Canyon Gold Metallic, 1970 Dodge Super Bee in Sublime Green, and a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 in Black and White. The chase car of this release will be a 1957 Bel Air with Mr. Gasket graphics, rather than the traditional black and gold chase version.

And the crew at M2 liked the Auto-drags so much in the 1/64 scale, that they decided to go ahead with a mid-scale (1/24) as well! These will be available as individual pieces, as well as in solid cases of 4, including 2 of each (1957 Chevy Bel Air and 1970 Ford Mustang):

And finally, we have the Flames series, also in mid-scale. This will feature the 1957 Bel Air and the 1970 Ford Mustang, both in Black with Flame art.

As always, remember to click the images. There are MANY more images available for most of these releases, so you know just exactly what your getting into with the beauties!

New Corgi just in!

First, many thanks to Marley for taking over the blog for a couple days! While I was out, we received a couple new items from Corgi. These are brand new releases, just announced not too long ago.

This one to the left is the Albatros DV as flown by Paul Baeumer. Born in 1896, Paul Baeumer was an assistant dentist who learned to fly, joining Flieger Abteilung 7, then Jasta 2, followed by Jasta 5, returning to Jasta 3 after his 3rd vistory in August 1917. He received the Pour le Merite on November 2, 1918. His 4th victory involved a Sopwith Camel of 9 Naval Sqn on the 20th of September, woulding the pilot during this action. His 6th and final victory on Snellegem airfield was also a Sopwith Camel, making him the airfield's biggest Ace.

The next release is a Fokker DR.1, flown by Lothar von Richthofen. Richthofen transferred to the German Air Service in 1915 and was assigned to Jasta 11 on March 6, 1917. Lothar scored 24 victories in 47 days and was credited with shooting down English Ace Albert Ball on May 7, 1917. Wounded on March 12, 1918, he crash landed his Fokker DR.I after being shot down by Australian ace, Geoffrey Hughes. In the summer of 1918, Lothar returned to duty and achieved ten more victories by the end of the war. Scoring his final victory on August 12, 1918, he shot down a Sopwith Camel flown by English ace, Jogn Summers. The following day, Lothar was seriouslt wounded for the third time when his Fokker D.VII was show down over the Somme by another Sopwith Camel.

Okay, I admit it, I'm not a Trekkie...

However, Maleia did hint at the arrival of a Klingon Bird of Prey a few months ago...

I would hate to disappoint any fans out there! Despite the fact that I'm not totally sure what a Bird of Prey is, the internet buzz about this piece from Mattel assures me this is a collector's item that many fans are eagerly awaiting.

I can't resist sharing this with you!

Someone, somewhere, decided it would be a good idea to wash their car in one fell swoop instead of going through the regular car wash. Not a good idea.

Neatorama tells me that "the shovel has a capacity of 42 cubic meter (which when filled with water, is equivalent to 42 metric ton or oh, about 92,500 lb)."

We're still getting great reviews!

We always enjoy getting your comments in our inboxes here. It keeps us encouraged so we can keep providing great customer service. Here's what Lou from CA had to say about his recent purchase:

"Yes, I received the order in good shape and I am very satisfied with these two products as well as all of the many products that I have ordered from 3000toys. The products are truly superb and your service is the best I’ve ever seen. All items are so carefully packed and I receive them in such excellent condition. I wish other companies would pay such careful attention to detail and to their customers as you do. Thanks very much for taking such good care of us. Because of your excellent products and service, I will always do my business with you. Thanks and have a great day."

Welly's latest offerings

The 1999 Chevrolet Silverado Extended Cab Sport in Black is a beautiful new model from Welly.
In 1/18 scale, the detailing is truly impressive!
Add a little luxury to your collection with the Porsche Boxster S (Soft Top) in Yellow. This piece also comes in black, but the yellow really gives it pizzazz!

For that extra bit of nostalgia, don't pass up the 1970 Ford Mercury Cougar Eliminator in Orange. This will be at home in any vintage car collection!
